Terms of Use
Draft of 26 October 2026, not yet reviewed
The terms on which CLCMGMT LLC, trading as Beyond the Runway, offers this site, the book and the Legacy Organizer.
1Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by CLCMGMT LLC. Beyond the Runway is a trading name.
Post reaches us at P.O. Box 513, Brookings, Oregon 97415. 480-798-4318 reaches a person.
For reviewconfirm the state of formation, which is assumed to be Oregon from the mailing address above, and add any registration number or registered agent that has to be displayed. This is the assumption the governing law, dispute and consumer privacy sections all rest on, so it is the first thing to settle.
2What the Legacy Organizer is, and what it is not
The Legacy Organizer is a guided way to write down what exists, where it is, and who should be contacted. It complements, but does not replace, your will, your trust, your financial plan, your legal documents, or professional advice.
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial or medical advice, and completing the Organizer does not create an advisory relationship with anybody.
3Your password, and what we cannot do about it
You choose the password that encrypts your Organizer. It never reaches us and is not stored anywhere, so we cannot reset it and we cannot recover what is behind it. If you lose it, the contents are unrecoverable by any party, including us.
You can clear your answers and start again with the same activation code, which is what to do if this happens to you.
4The document you take away
There are two ways to get your Organizer out, and they produce different files.
Print, at any time, uses your own browser's print command. You choose where it is saved and the finished file never passes through us. That file is not password protected and we do not claim it is. It is yours to protect with your own tools.
Finish, when you declare the document complete, builds a PDF in your own browser and locks it there with your own password before it is saved. It never passes through us either. You also get a small companion file, which is how you put everything back here if you change your mind.
Thirty days after you finish, we erase what we hold: your answers, your address, your telephone number and any copy your advisor could open. We keep your name, the fact that you finished, and enough to let you sign in. We email you before it happens and you can stop it at any point in those thirty days. After it happens we cannot recover anything, because there is nothing left here to recover from.
The locked file is the only copy at that point, unless you have made others. Make others.
For reviewthis describes two real routes through the software and both are accurate. The point for a reviewer is the thirty day erasure: it is a deletion the customer asked for, warned by email beforehand and reversible throughout, and the limits section should be consistent with the fact that afterwards the operator genuinely cannot produce the data.
5Activation codes
An activation code opens one Organizer. It is spent the moment it is used and cannot be transferred afterwards.
Advisors who buy codes in volume are responsible for who they give them to.
Codes do not expire.
If an order is refunded or cancelled, a code that has not been used yet stops working. A code that has already been used keeps working, and we get in touch instead. We will not shut somebody out of a document they may be part way through writing on the strength of a payment event.
For reviewboth paragraphs describe what the software actually does on a refund. Confirm that codes should never expire, and confirm the second paragraph is the commercial position, because it means a refunded customer can keep an activated Organizer until a conversation happens.
6The thirty minute session
Each Organizer includes one complimentary thirty minute session with an advisor, by telephone or video.
The advisor is an independent professional, not our employee or agent. They are responsible for their own licensing, their own compliance and their own advice. We introduce you and nothing more.
The session is educational. It is about how to use the Organizer and what to think about. It is not legal, tax, financial, insurance or investment advice, and it does not create an advisory, fiduciary or client relationship with us or with the advisor. If something in it deserves professional attention, the advisor will say so and that is a separate engagement, on their terms, under their own licensing.
You are never obliged to buy anything from the advisor, and declining costs you nothing.
For reviewthis is the section most likely to need care, because a free session with a licensed advisor is exactly where somebody could read an advisory relationship into a conversation. Confirm the disclaimer is sufficient for the licences the advisors actually hold, whether any securities or insurance regulator requires particular wording, and whether the operator needs its own disclosure about what it is paid by advisors. Confirm also whether the session expires, since it is drafted here as not expiring.
7Payment, delivery and refunds
Payment is taken by Shopify. Prices are in US dollars and include nothing else unless the page says so.
The eBook is delivered as an EPUB, emailed to you after you buy it. The Legacy Organizer is delivered as an activation code, emailed to you after you buy it. The paperback is shipped.
If anything does not arrive, call us and we will sort it out. That is faster than a form and it is the reason the number is on every page.
To be writtenthe refund window and its conditions, and who bears return shipping. Nobody here has those facts, and they have to match what the Shopify store is actually configured to do or the two contradict each other in front of a customer. A digital product that has already been downloaded, and an activation code that has already been used, both need stating specifically.
For reviewthe delivery paragraph is accurate as the store is configured today. Confirm the refund position, then this section and the Shopify refund policy have to be written to say the same thing.
8Acceptable use
Use the site and the Organizer for their purpose, and do not try to break them. In particular, do not try to reach another person's Organizer, do not attempt to defeat or probe the encryption or the sign in, do not scrape the site, and do not resell or redistribute the book, the Organizer or the briefings.
Do not use an advisor's activation code, or an advisor's six digit identifier, to impersonate them.
If you find a security problem, tell us before you tell anybody else. Call the number on any page or write to us, and we will take it seriously.
For reviewordinary prohibitions plus the three specific to this product. The invitation to report a security problem is deliberate and is the behaviour this business wants, but a reviewer should decide whether it needs a safe harbour statement so that a good faith reporter is not exposed under computer misuse law.
9Intellectual property
The book, the Legacy Organizer and everything on this site belong to the operator or to the people who licensed it to us. Buying the book or the Organizer buys you a personal licence to use it, not ownership of it, and not the right to copy it for anybody else.
An advisor who buys codes in volume may give them to their own clients. That is what they are for. It is not permission to reproduce the book, the Organizer or the training material.
What you write inside your Organizer is yours. We claim nothing in it, we license nothing from you, and we could not use it if we wanted to, because we cannot read it. Making copies of your own finished document and giving them to the people who will need them is the point of the product, and nothing here restricts that.
For reviewthe third paragraph matters commercially as well as legally, because it is the promise the product is sold on. Confirm the second paragraph matches what advisors are actually told in the volume agreement, and add the book's own copyright line and any contributor or foreword rights.
10Warranties and liability
We work hard to keep this running and we cannot promise it is perfect. The site and the Organizer are provided as they are, and we do not warrant that they will be available without interruption or free of faults.
Two limits are specific to this product and we would rather say them plainly than bury them.
We cannot recover your password, and we cannot recover what is behind it. That is the design, it is what makes the privacy promise true, and it means losing your password means losing your answers. No act of ours can undo that.
The Organizer records where things are. It is not a will, a trust, a beneficiary designation or any other legal instrument, and completing it changes nothing about who inherits what. If what you write here conflicts with your actual legal documents, your legal documents govern.
We are responsible for our own fraud, for death or injury our negligence causes, and for anything the law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing in these terms limits any of that.
To be writtenthe limitation and exclusion clauses themselves, including whether liability is capped and at what figure. Nobody here is qualified to draft them and a cap pulled from a template is worse than none.
For reviewthis is the section that matters most. The paragraphs above are the honest substance and a reviewer should keep them in plain words, because the audience is 45 to 70 and a wall of capitals is read by nobody. Three things to settle: the cap, whether it is expressed as the amount paid; whether Oregon consumer law limits what can be excluded against a consumer; and whether the third paragraph, which disclaims any ability to recover lost data, survives in a product whose own marketing says the locked copy is kept until you ask for it to go. The two are consistent but they have to be read together.
11Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
If something goes wrong, call us first. Most things are settled in one conversation and that is the outcome everybody wants. If it cannot be settled that way, the courts of Oregon are where it is heard, and you and we both agree to that.
For reviewOregon is assumed from the operator's mailing address and has not been confirmed. It changes with the state of formation. Drafted without an arbitration clause and without a class action waiver, because neither should be added by default: both are a commercial and reputational decision as much as a legal one, and this product is sold to people organising their affairs for their families. If either is wanted, it needs drafting properly, with whatever conspicuous notice and opt out the applicable law requires.
12Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we change the date at the top of this page, and the current version is always the one published here.
A change does not apply retrospectively to something you have already bought. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published on the day you made it.
For reviewthe second paragraph is deliberate and is the fair position for a product paid for once and used for years. Confirm it is wanted, and decide whether a copy of each superseded version has to be kept and made available, which it is not today.
